The hotel is located in a quiet area and is within walking distance to the Gojo station and isn't too far from the Kyoto JR station. Also, more importantly, it's down the street from a Family Mart! :) The hotel itself is beautiful and I loved how aesthetically pleasing and serene the lobby was. The lobby also has complimentary amenities near the elevator such as pajamas, tooth brush, cotton pads etc. Oh! And they have a bookshelf full of manga in the lobby that guests could read in their downtime. The rooms were incredibly clean, decently sized and the beds were comfy. My friend and I each had a medium suitcase, carry on, and a backpack and we were able to make things fit in the room without feeling too cramped. The biggest standout to us though was the staff. My friend lost her passport somewhere in the Osaka JR station, and the front desk agent was able to make a few phone calls and located it! He wrote a note for her to hand to the Osaka JR station staff. I wish I remembered this gentleman's name because he was able to turn this whole situation around for her. Besides that, the staff in general were incredibly kind and friendly and helped make our stay a memorable one! They even helped us set up our luggage delivery to the next hotel we were going to stay at in Tokyo. I highly recommend this hotel and plan on returning the next time I'm in Kyoto!

We loved our stay at Henn na Hotel Premier Kyoto Gojo Karasuma! We reached the hotel from Kyoto station within a ~15 minute walk and could easily check in by ourselves as we arrived in the evening. The room was lovely furnished in a traditional japanese way with tatami mats. The hotel provided a lot of things like toothbrushes, razor, slippers and so on. The breakfast was delicious with a large selection of japanese food as well as food you can get for breakfast in western countries. Even though our room faced the main street we didn‘t hear a thing of the traffic. The city centre or Gion quarter can be reached within a ~15 minute walk. In the surrounding area are some conbinis, a pharmacy, a subway station and restaurants. All in all a great choice!

Modern room controls I loved. From the bed you can control the lights, USB charge, power socket, and the air-conditioning. Extra dehumidifier was great as with the small room and 2 people it can get humid. All of the supplied toiletries, umbrellas, Manga Library and kimona in the room to mention a few invmcrease the comfort. The vacuum bag sealer for packing was a nice touch. The in house smoking area was appreciated greatly. It's was a great stay and quite frankly an amazing location for the money. Impressive service and value for money

The room that was booked was good, with a comfortable bed, decently sized shower/ bathtub room, and a toilet that was separated from the shower room. The location for the hotel was very good also, being only 1 stop away from kyoto station and eligible when purchasing the day pass to use to get around kyoto. Though beware that the day pass only covers 2 of the lines that is part of the kyoto subway network, and getting to popular destinations will not be covered by the pass. One more add on is that in the lobby there is a place to store luggages, that is handled through a locker system for free to hotel guests since the check in is only at 3pm onwards.

Additionally, there were quite a few eateries nearby which was great (and a Family mart too)! The rooms itself was great and clean, with enough space to put our luggage and more! Overall an amazing and comfortable stay!
